Scott is a lifelong public servant, starting at age 16 with his Northern Virginia volunteer fire department. After obtaining a B.S. in Fire Administration, he earned his commission with the United States Marine Corps. He served four years on active duty including a deployment to Marja, Afghanistan in support of OEF 10.1. Transitioning to the USMC Reserve component in 2011, he began his career with the Wilmington (NC) Fire Department. Scott served for seven years with WFD, until 2017 when he helped start a technology company in the transportation industry. In 2020 he founded his own company, Essential Personnel, with a software solution designed to serve the personnel demands of public safety professionals.
Scott is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve, serving as an Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer with Marine Forces North based in Atlanta at FEMA Region IV headquarters. He has held various logistics, operations and command billets including Company Commander and Battalion Executive Officer.
