Behind the Bench: Practice Tips from Family Court Clerks and Judicial Assistants
4:00 PM - 5:15 PM Fri
Shirley Gonzalez serves as a Judicial Assistant for Utah’s Fourth District Court. She is currently assigned to work alongside Commissioner Hardy. Few examples of her responsibilities include processing a high volume of paperwork, coordinating scheduling, and assisting the Commissioner during court hearings. One of her primary priorities is ensuring that filings and other documents submitted by attorneys and self-represented (pro se) parties are processed accurately and efficiently. Throughout her time with the court, she has had the opportunity to work alongside attorneys, the Sheriff’s Department, Guardians ad Litems, DCFS, and other professionals involved in the judicial process. She has truly enjoyed her time working for the court and values the relationships and experience she has gained along the way. Shirley enjoys her free time with her husband and her one year old son. She loves to read, discovering things to cook and exploring activities to learn about different cultures.
