Recruited to Silicon Valley 25 years ago by preeminent venture capital firm NEA, Jim built global sales organizations, attracted and mentored top talent, prepared companies to be public, participated in IPO road shows and investor meetings, led companies through numerous M&A transactions, founded, funded and served as CEO and board member of early stage information solutions, medical device companies backed by Silicon Valley luminaries.
Jim served as CEO, board member and co-founder of Hopelink; CEO in residence Morgenthaler Ventures; VP Global Sales, SVP Business Development at Conceptus (NASDAQ: CPTS) and various executive positions at Scimed Life Systems and CR Bard.
Jim served as Chair and Executive Director of a non-profit organization, San Francisco RBI, which he co-founded with Major League Baseball focused on literacy, technology, sport and wellness serving under-resourced Bay Area children. The organization successfully merged into the San Francisco Giants’ Community Fund.
Prior to his business career, Jim had a professional athletic career in soccer and football.
Jim has served on the boards of SF General Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and USF Athletic Director Council.
Jim received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Texas Tech University in 1981.
