Stevie Whalen is the president of the Kunia Village Title Holding Corporation and the Kunia Village Development Corporation. She was the former executive director of the Hawaii Agriculture Research Center (formerly the Hawaiian Sugar Planter’s Association). She held various positions with that company since 1973. She is the secretary of the Hawaii Foundation for Agricultural Research and president of the Kunia Water Association. Her formal education is in chemistry and pharmacology. She has over 50 years’ experience in the agricultural industry in Hawaiʻi and has been involved in pesticide registrations and their monitoring, water quality monitoring, water distribution and management, community concerns over agriculture and the environment, and agricultural worker housing and property development.
