Dr. Ron Terry, after a brief career as a professor, founded an environmental consulting business in 1992 that continues to this day. Specializing in forming teams to conduct EAs and EISs for government infrastructure, his projects include the Saddle Road Improvements, the Ka‘u Forest Reserve Management Plan,Kekaha Kai State Park Improvements, and hundreds of state, federal and county wells, pipelines, roads, parks, medical facilities and solid waste facilities. He served 24 years on various State boards and commissions related to environmental science, most recently on Environmental Council, where he helped lead revision of the State’s EIS Administrative Rules. He is a cofounder of the non-profit trail advocacy group Hilo Bayfront Trails, Inc., and serves as its Secretary. Side hustles include surfing and kayaking and world travel.
