Pathways to Resilience: Navigating the Future of Climate Adaptation in Hawaiʻi

Ollie Lau is a systems thinker who is passionate
about reaching equitable planning solutions
informed by robust public engagement and
supported by data analysis. As a Planner for
SSFM International, he works with communities
across Hawai‘i to advance climate resilience.
Recent projects include policy analysis for
managed retreat, adaptation pathways planning
for beach parks, and resilient strategies for state
highways. Prior to moving to Hawai‘i, he worked
on climate resilience and active transportation
projects for a wide range of clients, from small
rural communities to large federal agencies
across the U.S. Mainland. He is a graduate
of the School of Planning, Public Policy, and
Management at the University of Oregon.
