Jennifer Maydan has 19 years of experience in community planning in Maui County, working in both the private and public sector. Jennifer has been a planner with Maui County’s Planning Department and Department of Parks and Recreation, working on projects including the Maui Island Plan, Lānaʻi Community Plan, Molokaʻi Community Plan, West Maui Community Plan, and Maui County Beach Park Vulnerability and Adaptation Study. Following the August 2023 wildfires on Maui, she joined the newly formed Office of Recovery to work on long-term recovery planning for Lahaina. Jennifer holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado at Denver and is a certified AICP. She is also Chair of the Healthy Eating Active Living Coalition for Maui, Moloka’i and Lānaʻi and Chair of the Kaulunai Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council.
