Arjuna Heim is Research Director and Director of Housing Policy for Hawai‘i Appleseed. Born and raised on O‘ahu, she brings a grounded, research-based local perspective and fresh, innovative approach to tackling Hawai‘i’s affordable housing challenges. She holds a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where her capstone examined the historical, political, and social dynamics behind Hawai‘i’s extensive inclusionary zoning policies. Arjuna’s work centers on social equity, advancing policies that make safe, stable housing attainable for all Hawai‘i residents. When not talking about housing policy, she’s out surfing.
