Calvert “Cal” G. Chipchase is a partner at Cades Schutte LLP and chairs the firm’s Real Estate Disputes Group. His practice centers on land use, zoning and entitlements, environmental review, and real estate/commercial litigation, including contested cases, administrative appeals, and challenges to land use approvals. He represents clients before state and county boards and commissions and in Hawai‘i’s state and federal courts. Cal earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Hawai‘i’s William S. Richardson School of Law, where he was class valedictorian, and clerked for Judge Richard R. Clifton (9th Cir.) and Judge Alan C. Kay (D. Haw.). He has taught real property and land use at Richardson for nearly two decades and is recognized by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers for land use and litigation.
