Pili Nā Moku: Aligning Holistic Environmental Stewardship, Community Resilience, and Disaster Risk Reduction

Brad Romine as Hawaiʻi Sea Grant extension
faculty, works closely with state and county
government and communities on collaborative
projects in support of coastal resource
stewardship, planning, decision-making, and
policy development incorporating the latest
and best-available science. Brad contributed
to State of Hawaiʻi Sea Level Rise Vulnerability
and Adaptation Reports and coordinates a
companion Hawaiʻi Sea Level Rise Viewer
mapping tool. He coordinates the Pili Nā Moku
project, a collaborative effort for ʻāina restoration
and community networking to advance climate
resilience in the Hawaiʻi. He was appointed to
the Honolulu Climate Change Commission in
2022. Brad completed his PhD in Geology and
Geophysics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
in 2013 with a focus on coastal processes and
hazards.
