Jesse Cannella is an incoming second-year medical student at Boonshoft School of Medicine, originally from Youngstown, Ohio. He has his Bachelor’s in Microbiology from The Ohio State University, with a minor in City and Regional Planning. He has certifications in “Inclusive Leadership Development” and “Diversity, Intercultural, and Community Engagement” from Ohio State. Jesse participated in the course “HIV in Context” in Iringa, Tanzania, as well as bench-work studying HIV at Ohio State. He has experience as a Microbiology teaching assistant and in presenting “Drug Resistance in Bacteria” to students in Ohio State’s Department of Microbiology.
