Raised in a small town, Shari learned early the importance of initiative, creative problem-solving, and a deep appreciation for rural Minnesota. A true connector, her passion lies in bringing people together to do meaningful, fulfilling work that creates a ripple effect of good. With over 25 years of experience driving business results, she excels at leading cross-functional groups to find common ground and overcome obstacles. Shari is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Upper Midwest Film Office (UMFO). Under her leadership, UMFO has driven over $12 million in direct economic spending, significantly boosting the regional film industry and attracting numerous productions. She also serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Film Alliance, where she advocates for a thriving film and media landscape across the state. Shari holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota Duluth and currently serves on the Duluth Public Arts Commission. She lives in Duluth with her family and two dogs, spending as much time outdoors as possible.
