Dr. Rashad Anderson is a Director and Associate Professor at the School of Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver, as well as the National Expansion Coordinator for the Call Me MiSTER Program, which aims to recruit and support African American male educators. He holds a B.S. in Music Education and a Master's in Education from the University of South Carolina, where he also earned his Ph.D. in Educational Foundations and Inquiry, focusing on social justice and equity issues in education. A celebrated author, Dr. Anderson wrote "Wassup with all the Black Boys Sitting in the Principal's Office" and "Doing Something About It! A Guide to Building a School-Based Mentoring Program." As a sought-after speaker and consultant, he has presented at over 80 conferences, including serving as keynote speaker at the U.S. Department of Education in 2019. Dr. Anderson has received numerous accolades, including the Call Me MiSTER Trailblazer award and three-time Professor of the Year at SC State University, while actively engaging with organizations that promote education and equity.
