Mrs. Nicole Simmons-Rochon is the Program Director of Training and Educational Development for the Division of Inclusive Culture and Belonging at UCCS. Nicole is a dedicated Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) professional committed to fostering inclusive environments and promoting equitable practices within organizations. With over a decade of experience in Student Affairs and Inclusive Leadership, she has demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance diversity and promote a culture of belonging. As a student success scholar, and student affairs ambassador, Mrs. Rochon has a proven track record of collaborating with leadership teams to assess current DEI practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions. She is skilled in conducting workshops, forums, training sessions, and awareness campaigns to engage audiences like those on the UCCS’ campus. She is also an adjunct faculty for their Gateway Program Seminar courses. She is an active Colorado Springs community member, as she is a member of El Pomar – Elevating Leaders Development, Black Educators Network, and a Pikes Peak United Way – LEAD graduate. She is on the Executive Board of Eastlake High School as Vice President and President of Rocky Mountain Women’s Film. Nicole holds a Master of Education in Student Affairs, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Pre-Law, and is a Certified Professional Life Coach. Nicole is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership, Research, & Policy at UCCS and continues to be a dedicated advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, contributing to the ongoing dialogue surrounding these critical issues in both professional and community settings.
