3L: Breakout Session - How to Jive with Failure: The Give and Take Mindset that Helps you Move Forward with Resilience
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM Wed
Certified life coach, Michelle Cox, completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Ricks College (1999) and Marriage Family Human Development at Brigham Young University (2002), with the plan of becoming a Certified Family Life Educator. Choosing to raise her family first, which ended up spanning 19 years and six children, Michelle returned to the workplace in 2022 as a full time teacher aide at an elementary school. Seeing the struggles many children faced with low self-confidence and crippling limiting beliefs, Michelle felt drawn to help children better understand their brain and nervous system. She became certified as a life coach for kids through the Adventures in WISDOM™ (AIW) Program in 2023. The 27 mindset lessons contained in the AIW curriculum have proven to be impactful, effective and highly engaging, and adaptable to adult audiences. Since becoming certified in May 2023, Michelle has worked with nearly 250 individuals through kids’ mindset summer camps and classes, adult mindset workshops and family zoom classes. She is also the president of the Parks Advocacy League of Nacogdoches, an active member of the 21/7 Association and the NAC-CAN Coalition, participates in ADAC interagency meetings, and serves on the planning committee for “Interwoven: A Community Wellness Convention,” a mental health conference to be held in Nacogdoches, Texas in August 2024.
