Mike has over 30 years of experience working with the affordable housing industry, as well as market rate, multi-family residential and commercial real estate entities. Upon graduating from SUNY Albany in 1994, he started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and worked with another large local firm before joining Flaherty Salmin CPAs in 2002. The focus of Mike’s client work is with developers, owners and managers of real estate entities, most of which are affordable housing properties. He has vast experience with low-income housing tax credits, HUD, Rural Development and other federal, state and local subsidy and financing programs. In addition to being one of the main drivers of the firm’s Affordable Housing Services practice, Mike also actively oversees Flaherty Salmin’s HR and IT departments. He heads up the firm’s recruiting process and participates regularly in panel discussions and presentations at local universities.
