After graduating from Myers Park High School in Charlotte, NC, Sergeant First Class Retired Lattimore enlisted in the United States Army as an (11B) Infantrymen.
During his 21 years, 10 months, and 10 days of service, SFC (R) Lattimore was deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm with the 101st Airborne Air Assault Division of Ft. Campbell, KY and Operation Iraqi Freedom with V Corps of Heidelberg, Germany. SFC (R) Lattimore earned many awards and decorations throughout his service.
He completed his Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC, his Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of New England in Biddeford, ME, and his Master of School Administration (MSA) from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC.
SFC (R) Lattimore was employed with Cumberland County Schools (CCS) for 11 years. He was a school social worker for 6 years, 4 years as the district’s Military Liaison, and 1 year as a school administrator. He is currently employed by the State of North Carolina serving as the State Military Consultant at the Department of Public Instruction in Raleigh North Carolina. He advocates and ensure that over 97, 000 Military Connected Students enrolled within NC are supported, recognized, celebrated, and easily transition in and out of NC public Schools.
