William Fales, MD, FAEMS, FACEP, is Professor of Emergency Medicine and Chief of the Division of EMS and Disaster Medicine at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and longtime EMS Medical Director for Kalamazoo County. A former paramedic and firefighter, Dr. Fales has more than four decades of experience in EMS, emergency medicine, education, research, and disaster preparedness. He recently concluded his service as Michigan’s State EMS Medical Director and continues to provide EMS medical direction, education, and field response.
