Greg Kent currently serves as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Safety Council, bringing extensive leadership and safety experience from both military and industry settings. Before joining the Oklahoma Safety Council, Greg worked in the energy sector, where he was responsible for business operations with a strong emphasis on safety performance. His company-wide initiatives—including strengthened near-miss reporting, root cause analysis, and enhanced incentive programs—elevated the organization’s industry safety rating to #1. Later, at a private-equity-backed midstream company, he played a key role in implementing an industrial safety program that oversaw more than 2.1 million man-hours with only three recordable injuries over five years, surpassing industry safety benchmarks. Greg is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with more than 20 years of service and over 3,000 flight hours across multiple aircraft. He led a team of 190 instructors who graduated more than 1,000 new aviators in just two years. Over the course of his 7,000+ hours training the Air Force’s newest pilots, his squadron was recognized as the #1 safety program out of 16 units for two consecutive years.
