Kevin Behrens serves as the Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor for the State of Oklahoma and as Assistant General Counsel for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. In this role, Kevin works extensively on traffic safety and impaired-driving prevention policy, supporting law enforcement and safety initiatives across the state.
Over the course of his career with Oklahoma state government, Kevin has held several key leadership roles, including Director of the Board of Tests for Alcohol and Drug Influence, Interim Director of the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, and Assistant Attorney General. Before entering public service, he practiced civil rights and general tort defense in private practice.
Kevin currently chairs the Oklahoma Impaired Driving Prevention Advisory Committee and has served in leadership positions with numerous state and national organizations focused on traffic and roadway safety, including the Association of Ignition Interlock Program Administrators, the Governor’s Highway Safety Administration Executive Committee, the National Child Passenger Safety Board, the Oklahoma Motorcycle Safety Advisory Committee, and the International Association for Chemical Testing.
