Jason Nieuwenhuis is an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) leader with extensive experience across oil and gas and industrial operations. As EHS Manager at Validus Energy, he oversees safety strategy, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives designed to protect employees, strengthen operational performance, and drive continuous improvement.
Jason brings a strong background in oil and gas safety program development, workers’ compensation case management, fire protection, accident investigation, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and regulatory compliance. He has successfully led safety management systems, conducted hazard analyses, and implemented training programs that enhance both workforce engagement and operational efficiency.
Prior to joining Validus Energy, Jason held senior EHS leadership roles at Nortek Air Solutions, Red Bluff Resources and Devon Energy. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with key stakeholders, and develop structured processes that reduce risk while improving performance.
Jason is a Certified Safety Professional. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and completed the Energy Executive Management Program at University of Oklahoma.
In addition to his work at Validus, Jason is a sports photographer, bringing the same attention to detail and focus to his creative pursuits as he does to workplace safety leadership.
