Dr. Bansal has been on faculty at Mount Sinai since 2001. In addition to maintaining an NIH funded research program focused on molecular mechanism of liver fibrosis, she has served as PI on numerous MASH clinical trials. At the international/national levels, she held the position of Secretary for AASLD and currently serves as the Director of the newly formed MASLD/MASH Center of Excellenceat Mount Sinai. In January 2024, Dr. Bansal was named System Chief, Division of Liver Diseases for the Mount Sinai Health System. and launched the MASH Center of Excellence in 2022.
