Teddy Mangawa is a graduate of Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre based in California, USA. He is one of the most sought after actor, director and theatre trainers in Zimbabwe. He is currently working with Savanna Trust, a Zimbabwean non-profit organization that specializes in using the arts (Theatre, Radio Dramas and Film) for social transformation and development. Savanna Trust uses interactive theatre because it provides for an in-depth, rich, interpersonal engaging process that enables citizens to be active participants in solution mapping. Teddy Mangawa has established himself as a competent performing artist, a theatre for development practitioner, a drama facilitator, trainer and a human rights activist. He also has extensive experience in using drama to raise awareness on human rights, Climate Change, public health and development issues. In recognition of his acting talent and contribution to the arts industry, Teddy was awarded the Best Actor’s Award by the NAMA in 2010 and 2018. He was also nominated as the best director in 2020 & 2021 NAMA awards. Teddy Mangawa has worked on various projects in the SADC region and has worked on projects in countries including South Africans and Malawi.
