Mariano Beltrán is an agronomist with a specialization in agroecology and food sovereignty. He is a member of the Coordination group of the National Network of Native and Creole Seeds of Uruguay. As a member of the food sovereignty and agroecology team with a gender perspective at REDES-AT, he has contributed to the analysis and political positioning of the organization on various topics of interest. REDES-AT is a member of the two international networks Friends of the Earth International and Future Earth (Framtidsjorden).
