Cities for people not cars - learning from successes in rapid urban traffic reduction
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM Tue
Emilia has been involved with lots of environmental, human rights, and social justice campaigns, including working as bioenergy campaigner with Biofuelwatch; air pollution campaigner with Friends of the Earth Scotland; and advocacy officer for the human right to a healthy environment with the Environmental Rights Centre for Scotland. She successfully pushed for a range of sustainable transport measures to be adopted in Scotland's Transport Act 2019.
She is a firm believer in transport justice and believes that redressing the dominance of the private car in our cities is key to tackling the climate crisis and making our public spaces accessible for all. She loves the opportunity that the Car Free Megacities campaign offers, in linking up three iconic cities with a positive, car-free vision for the future.
