Jens Rasmussen is an award winning actor with nearly three decades of theatre pedagogy experience. His training and devising technique, Magnetics (influenced by Suzuki, Butoh, Contact Improvisation, and Viewpoints) grounds performers in their bodies, trains boldness and full body expression, while building profound ensemble connection and awareness. He is Education Director and co-founder of Bechdel Project,
through which he has lead socially conscious writing and devising residencies, at universities and festivals across the country.
As a performer, choreographer, and movement consultant he has worked on countless stages in New York and across the country. His work, which includes man world premiers and ensemble devised productions, has been seen at theatres such as 59 East 59, La Mama, HERE, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, Cleveland Public, Milwaukee Rep, Studio Theatre in DC, and Folger Shakespeare Theatre. His recent collaborations include American Dreams, which imagines a world where US immigration has been shut down and the only way to gain citizenship is through a tv game show run by the US government, and The War Letters, which is based on nearly
1000 letters between a US soldier on the front lines and his wife during WWII. Learn more at.
