William was appointed Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Michigan-Flint in the fall of 2009 and promoted to Associate Professor in 2015. His teaching, research, and creative activities include contemporary acting, classical styles, comedic technique, stage combat, acting for the camera, directing, theatre history, vocal health and hygiene for occupational voice-users, as well as essential soft skill building and patient simulations in health science programs. William is an active member of the Actors' Equity Association and has worked as an actor, director, and fight choreographer for the past twenty years with credits in television, classical theatre, contemporary theatre, and musical theatre in the United States and in England. Recently, William has served as the Fight Choreographer on productions at the Flint Repertory Theatre, Shakespeare in Detroit, Thunder Bay Theater, and has also taught acting, clowning, comedic technique, and stage combat at the Michigan Educational Theatre Association, Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival, Bay View Fine Arts Festival, Sitka Fine Arts Camp, the Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts, the Upright Citizens Brigade (NYC and LA), the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, and at numerous high schools in southeastern Michigan. He also collaborates regularly with the University of Michigan Vocal Health Center.
