Steven Kirby Graduated from University of Oklahoma 1985 B.S. Chemistry Lead and supervisory chemist for DOD/Air Force 1985-1992 High School teacher for Computer Science, Chemistry, AP Chemistry and AP Physics 1993-2008 Compliance Officer, Assistant Area Director, and Area Director DOL/OSHA 2008-Present. Steven grew up in rural northeastern Oklahoma near Vinita on small family owned farm He began his professional career as a chemist with Dept. of Defense at Tinker AFB in 1985. Then moved into teaching in 1993 where he taught at Ketchum and Vinita until 2008. From 1996 to 2008 Steven also worked in residential construction with his father. He began work for OSHA in 2008 as a Compliance Officer, becoming the Assistant Area Director in January 2012 and Area Director in June 2019.
