Joell has over 25 years of food science experience within the industrial, regulatory and academic sectors. Her career in academia has been spent predominantly in Extension and Outreach with her most recent position working directly with the food industry of VA to provide the technical assistance needed to produce high quality, safe, and innovative food products.
Joell has worked over 10 years in the food industry in various production settings in the areas of quality assurance, food safety, and research & development. Joell has also worked for the Food and Drug Administration as an investigator in the Roanoke, VA office.
Joell is a proud Hokie alum who lives in Blacksburg with her husband Joe who is also a Hokie alum and a food scientist working in the Department of Food Science and Technology.
