Tom Burch - is a scenic designer based in Charlotte, NC. Design credits include MISTAKES WERE MADE (Off-Broadway/NYC, Barrow Street Theatre), and regional shows at Arizona Theatre Company, Berkeley Rep, Cleveland Play House, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, American Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, and several others. He started his career as a freelance designer in Chicago where credits included shows at The Goodman, Chicago Shakespeare, Court, Northlight, The Hypocrites, Chicago Children's Theatre, House, Lifeline, and many many storefront companies. He's the recipient of 5 Jeff Award nominations (1 win), and 3 After Dark Awards for his scenic design work. He has taught in the theatre programs at University of Chicago, Ithaca College, and now at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. International work includes shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and Taiwan's YaTong Theatre Company, and he served as coordinator for the American student exhibits for the Prague Quadrennial in 2011, 2015 and 2019 (via USITT). Recent and upcoming projects include a puppet/toy theatre adaptation of the kids' book THE DOT and DRAGONS LOVE TACOS for Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
