Sam is a principal for Alvine Engineering, and lives in Omaha Nebraska. Alvine Engineering is an MEP consulting firm that provides mechanical, electrical plumbing, fire protection, and architectural lighting design services. Sam holds master degrees in Architectural Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Nebraska. He is a licensed professional electrical engineer and lighting certified by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (LC). Sam has over 15 years of experience in the industry working on a variety of projects types including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, corporate office spaces, high-rise buildings, higher education, hospitality and multi-family.
Sam helped to guide the local IES Oklahoma City Chapter as its president for four years from 2015-2019. He served on the board of the IES Oklahoma City chapter through the 2021-2022 IES fiscal year. One of his most recent award winning projects was the lighting design for the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts in Oklahoma City which received a IES Merit Award and was featured in the February edition of the LD+A.
