Corporal Crist has more than 16 years of experience in Law Enforcement. He completed his education at BSU while working as a probation officer and began working for the Boise Police Department in 2007. He has over 2500 hours of training and a master’s certification from the Idaho Police Officers Standards and Training. In 2011, Corporal Crist was presented with awards for NAPO’s National Top Cop, Silver Star, Lifesaving award and he was recipient of the Idaho State Medal of Honor. In addition, he serves as the unit commander of the department’s Honor Guard. Corporal Crist has had the opportunity to plan and participate in multiple line of duty deaths in Idaho and surrounding states.
Corporal Crist served in patrol and community outreach divisions working with youth in schools as well as the Police Activities League. He is currently assigned in the Neighborhood Contact Officer (NCO) unit. Recently, he has collaborated with the United States Marshals Service, the FBI, and the Treasure Valley Human Trafficking Task Force to confront the increased human trafficking problems in our communities.
