Yolanda McBride leads advocacy efforts at Children’s Aid in a range of areas, including education, health, and child welfare, as well as youth development, adolescent pregnancy prevention, juvenile justice, and cross-systems coordination. Before joining Children’s Aid, Yolanda served in the Mayor’s office as Senior Policy Advisor to the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, acting as the Mayor’s liaison to the New York City Housing Authority. Prior to that, she was the Senior Policy Analyst to the New York City Council, where she built initiatives and partnerships for education, social services, and aging programs for the Policy Division, including the Middle School Task Force, Adult Education Initiative and Age-Friendly New York City. Yolanda also spent seven years managing research and evaluation projects at the New York University Institute for Education and Social Policy and began her career at a private family foundation that granted scholarships to low-income middle school students to attend private schools. Yolanda has a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Lafayette College and a Master of Public Administration from New York University. In 2018, she was appointed to the New York State Child Care Availability Task Force.
