Michael’s extensive experience securing funding for affordable housing includes 4% and 9% low-income housing tax credits and subsidy loans from New York Homes and Community Renewal (NYHCR), Federal Home Loan Bank, HOME funds, Community Development Block Grants, and various other county and municipal sources. He believes that all people deserve safe, affordable, high-quality housing and is privileged to create those opportunities through his everyday work.
After more than a decade with Conifer, he has contributed to the successful construction and/or rehabilitation of 1,100+ apartments, with total development costs of over $350 million.
Michael has a B.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont, an M.Sc. in Urban Planning, and a J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also currently holds an active New York State law license.
During his time in law school, he received the 2010 Birzon Prize for Clinical Legal Education. Michael’s professional achievements were recognized by the Daily Record & the Rochester Business Journal as one of their 2021 Excellence in Construction & Real Estate honorees.
