Charlene recently retired from the CA Geologic Energy Management Division where she served as the Northern District Deputy and Geothermal Program Manager. She has a BS in geology and an MS in Petroleum Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro. After 3 years in the oil fields at Huntington Beach, CA, she spent the next 20+ years at The Geysers in various roles. She oversaw Calpine Corporation’s Glass Mountain project in Siskiyou County for 9 years. She worked for Ormat Technologies, Inc. focused on developing geothermal projects in Imperial and Mono Counties in CA. Her primary focus was permitting new geothermal facilities, environmental compliance for existing projects, government and regulatory affairs including community and public relations. She served on the Board of the Geothermal Resources Council (now called Geothermal Rising) for 8 years.
