Biomass Happens: Can We Safely and Cost-Effectively Sequester Carbon?

Colin is an Associate Director of the Energy Futures program at the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies, and Co-Director of the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies' Low-Carbon Fuel Policy Research Initiative, and an expert on low-carbon fuel policy, especially California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard. He has a decade of experience at the nexus of science and public policy as a researcher, advocate and speaker. His work focuses on low-carbon fuel policy and technology, carbon markets, sustainable transportation, renewable energy, and scientific engagement with public policy. After gaining a M.S. in Science, Technology, and Public Policy from the Rochester Institute of Technology, he returned to UC Davis for a Ph.D. in Transportation Technology and Policy. He led the Fuels section research for the report Driving California’s Transportation Emissions to Zero, which examines how California's transportation sector can achieve carbon neutrality by 2045. He previously worked on transportation and climate policy research and advocacy for the Nextgen Policy Center.
