As a Fervo Energy’s Policy & Regulatory Affairs Associate, Harper translates technical and commercial advancements in enhanced geothermal systems (“EGS”) into improved government policy, everything from power system planning to smart permitting policies. Specifically, Harper manages Fervo’s government affairs work in the state of California, where the majority of Fervo’s electricity is sold and where Fervo holds several lease positions. Harper’s core goal is to bridge information gaps in regulation and legislation that impede a rapid and just energy transition. Prior to joining Fervo, Harper supported non-profits and think tanks researching clean energy and electrification technology deployment and planned on-the-ground solar and battery projects with a portfolio of developers. Harper received her bachelor’s in foreign service from Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, majoring in Science, Technology, and International Affairs (“STIA”) with a focus on energy and the environment.
