Vicki Veenker is the Vice Mayor of Palo Alto and the Vice Chair of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Board, where she chairs the Policy, Grants and Technology Committee. She also serves as Palo Alto's Commissioner on the Northern California Power Agency Board, serving on the Board's Executive and Legislative Committees. She serves on the Public Safety Policy Committee for the League of California Cities and on the League's Peninsula Division Executive Board. In Palo Alto, Vice Mayor Veenker chairs the the Climate & Sustainability Committee and Policy & Services Committee. Professionally, Ms. Veenker is a patent and intellectual property attorney, previously a partner at Shearman & Sterling LLP, where she founded their Silicon Valley IP group, and before that, a partner at IP firm Fish & Neave. Today, she leads Veenker Law Offices and Veenker Dispute Resolution. Ms. Veenker also serves on the Mediation Panels of the US International Trade Commission and the US District Court for the Northern District of California. She was a Co-Founder and the General Counsel of Women's Professional Soccer, and is the Founder of nonprofit Sibling Cities USA. Ms. Veenker earned her law degree from Georgetown University and her undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry and Political Science from Indiana University.
