European organisations and how they use satellite data

Born in Rome, Giuseppe was awarded a Master of Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK, followed by an MSc in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University, where he subsequently obtained his PhD in SAR data fusion techniques for Earth Observation applications related to environmental monitoring. With work experiences at the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs in Vienna, at the International Space University, and at the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome, he joined the European Space Agency in 2007 working in the Sensor Performance Products and Algorithms section. He supported the Swarm Earth Explorer mission and managed the Copernicus Coordinated Data Quality Control service. Today he is the Mission Manager Support Officer supporting the ESA Earthnet Third Party Mission programme and the Copernicus Data Warehouse projects.
