Mr. Antonio Medina is the President & founder of Convergent Strategies, a consulting firm dedicated to accelerating its client’s business growth, by helping companies achieve higher levels of financial performance.
Antonio has spent much of his professional career leading high-profile initiatives, in a variety of fields including Government, Economic/Business Development, Finance,
Manufacturing, Real Estate, and Public Policy. He held the position of Executive Director (2013-2016) of the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO), responsible for Puerto Rico’s Industrial Development strategy, while also managing Puerto Rico’s largest real estate portfolio (~1,500 properties). He was also a member of the Governor’s Cabinet and Economic
Development Team. Some of his most important accomplishments at PRIDCO include the stabilization of the Life Sciences Segment, as well as the accelerated growth of the Aerospace and Export Services Segments in Puerto Rico. His tenure at PRIDCO was characterized by the entry of many new companies such as Lufthansa Technik, Sanofi Merial, and Infosys, as well as relevant expansion projects by Eli-Lilly, BMS, AbbVie, Coopervision, AON Hewitt, United Technologies, and Lockheed Martin, among many others. Multiple new multi-million dollar Real Estate Development projects were completed under his direct leadership. Mr. Medina was also instrumental in restoring the Rums of Puerto Rico program.
Prior to joining government, Mr. Medina had over 20 years’ experience in multiple Senior Management roles covering North and South America, Europe and Asia, including positions as CFO for Merck Brazil, Central America and the Caribbean, Director of Corporate Financial Evaluations, as well as prior experience in Business Development, Manufacturing, Engineering and Software Development.
Mr. Medina has served in multiple Boards of Directors such as the Ports Authority, Economic Development Bank, Trade and Export Company, The Science and Technology
Trust, a public TV Network and Guayacan, and is currently a member of the board of the Palmas Del Mar Utilities Company, and a representative of the Master Developer in the Palmas Del Mar Homeowners Association board.
His academic qualifications include an MBA in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business; a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering;
and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York. He is also fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
