Gretchen Sierra-Zorita was appointed Associate Director for Puerto Rico and the Territories at the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs in 2021. Before her appointment, Ms. Sierra-Zorita was a principal at Polilvox787, a public affairs and communications consultancy.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Ms. Sierra-Zorita has worked tirelessly during the past decade to bring attention to issues affecting Puerto Rico and the U.S. territories. Her work was grounded on extensive Federal government experience that included posts at the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Government Accountability Office, the Office of Management and Budget, and the U.S. House of Representatives.
Ms. Sierra-Zorita received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University, and her M.P.A. from the School of Public and International Affairs at Columbia University. With her husband she has raised three children in the Washington DC suburbs.
