Jack Heaney is Managing Principal of Fulcrum Properties and Principal of Fulcro Properties (WBE) and Fulcrum Architecture D.P.C., an integrated development and design platform focused on sustainable affordable housing in New York City. He is currently involved in more than 800 affordable homes across Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn, frequently partnering with nonprofit organizations and houses of worship. Trained as both an architect and developer, Jack approaches housing through the lens of design quality, long-term sustainability, and neighborhood impact, with a focus on proving that affordable housing can be both dignified and architecturally ambitious. He holds degrees from the University of Illinois and Columbia University. Extended Bio Jack Heaney is Managing Principal of Fulcrum Properties and Principal of Fulcro Properties (WBE) and Fulcrum Architecture D.P.C., an integrated development and architecture practice he founded in 2010 to deliver sustainable, design-driven affordable housing in New York City. He is currently involved in more than 800 affordable homes across Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn, often in partnership with nonprofit organizations and faith-based institutions. As both an architect and developer, Jack brings a dual perspective to housing that emphasizes thoughtful urban design, long-term building performance, and resident quality of life. His work focuses on demonstrating that affordable housing can contribute meaningfully to the architectural and civic fabric of the city. Before founding Fulcrum, Jack worked at RKT&B Architects and Steven Winter Associates, specializing in sustainable multifamily housing supported by HUD and NYSERDA programs. He began his career with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh. Jack holds architecture and real estate development degrees from the University of Illinois and Columbia University, where he also guest lectures at GSAPP.
