Myka leads MedPro's Southeast and Mid-Atlantic consultant teams, leveraging more than 25 years of extensive experience in healthcare. Her focus for the past 15 years has been on advancing healthcare risk management and patient safety as she served as the lead chief risk officer and patient safety executive for three large complex healthcare systems.
Throughout her career, Myka has developed skills and expertise in patient safety, clinical risk management, process improvement, enterprise risk management, claims management, healthcare leadership, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, quality improvement, and emergency medicine.
Myka is a registered nurse and has a clinical background in emergency medicine and trauma services. She earned a master's degree in healthcare administration and a bachelor's degree in nursing. In addition to her certifications, she is a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, Just Culture Certified, and earned an IHI Patient Safety Certification.
Myka currently serves as an American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) board member and ASHRM national teaching faculty. She is on the board of directors for the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety (FSHRMPS) and actively participates in several ASHRM and FSHRMPS committees.
