Heather McLemore is currently a Senior Accreditation Officer at A2LA, where she has been employed since January 2019. She assists in the day-to-day accreditation operations, including maintaining all aspects of the accreditation process for the conformity assessment bodies to which she is assigned, as well as performing full assessments. Ms. McLemore serves as the lead for the A2LA Food and Pharmaceutical Laboratory Accreditation Program, which relies on the 2018 AOAC International Guidelines. Professionally, Heather is a member of the American Council of Independent Laboratories Food Sciences Section, AOAC International, and the International Association for Food Protection. She has presented on topics such as impartiality, confidentiality, nonconformances and corrective actions, root cause analysis, and risk during covid. She was also instrumental in spearheading A2LA’s efforts to become the first accrediting body recognized by the FDA to accredit laboratories under the new rule for the Laboratory Accreditation for Analysis of Foods.
