BREAKOUT 1: Building a Reliable Traceability System: A Stepwise Approach

Dr. Jennifer Cleveland McEntire is the founder of Food Safety Strategy, LLC. With over 20 years of food and beverage association experience, she combines her technical background and regulatory insights to help the food industry assess and manage food safety risks in order to protect public health.
She held previous food safety leadership positions with the International Fresh Produce Association, Grocery Manufacturers Association, The Acheson Group and the Institute of Food Technologists, where she led the foundational work that coined the terms CTEs and KDEs and later led the traceability pilots in support of FSMA 204. McEntire earned a PhD from Rutgers University as a USDA National Needs Fellow in Food Safety and received a Bachelor of Science with Distinction, magna cum laude, in food science from the University of Delaware. She’s a member of the technical committee for the Center for Produce Safety, and was the 2020 recipient of the NSF International Food Safety Leadership Award and 2023 recipient of the Harold Barnum Industry Award from IAFP. She has published numerous book chapters, and peer reviewed articles and co-edited and co-authored "Traceability: From Binders to Blockchain". She also chairs the Strategic Advisory Board for Provision Analytics.
