Keynote Address - Might We Work Intelligently: The Role of Planning and Design in Healthcare Operations

A socio-spatial scientist and former nurse practitioner, Michelle Ossmann is dedicated to improving health through rigorous research and design. She directs health environment research for MillerKnoll, focusing on how human-centered, research-informed design can improve the experience and outcomes for patients, families, and staff. She also speaks and publishes widely on issues related to risk mitigation, the perception and experience of care, and workplace performance. Dr. Ossmann received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from Emory University, and her PhD in Architecture from The Georgia Institute of Technology. She is also an MBA candidate at Emory University, c/o 2025.
