COL Cassandra L. Mims Stanback hails from Chicago, IL, and attended school in South Suburban Harvey, IL. She commissioned as a Medical Service Corps Officer through Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) upon graduation from Fort Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1999. COL Mims Stanback has served with distinction several key Command, Staff, Combined Joint Task Force and OSD support level assignments. She served at Army Forces Command (FORSCOM); the Army’s largest Command Headquarters located at Fort Liberty. Currently assigned to Defense Health Agency Headquarters serving as the Deputy Chief of Design, Construction and Activation in the Facilities Enterprise. Her overseas assignments and deployments include Korea, Bosnia, Qatar, and Djibouti in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Stabilization Force (SFOR) a NATO-led multinational peacekeeping mission. COL Mims Stanback earned and completed a myriad of education and training throughout her career. She has earned a Master of Business Administration from TOURO University. Her military education includes the AMEDD Officer Basic & Advanced Courses and the Army Command and General Staff College. She has earned the coveted Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Demonstrated Master Logistician credentials; and completed courses and certifications with the Owens & Minor Healthcare Logistics Course at University of Ohio, and the Executive Leadership Certificate at the UNC Chapel Hill – Kenan-Flagler Business School.
