Diane Pickett is currently Chief of the Laboratory within the Division of Food Safety at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. For the past 30 years, she has worked for both state government and the regulated industry creating and implementing guidance, rules, policy, and procedures to ultimately protect human health and the environment from contaminant exposure. Diane has a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Geology from Florida State University. Dr. Giovinazzi is the Environmental Manager of the Bureau of Quality Management with the Division of Food Safety at the Florida Department of Agriculture with the mission to ensure the safety and wholesomeness of foods here in Florida. Previously, Dr. Giovinazzi worked as the Recall Coordinator for the Bureau of Food Inspections, and as a Scientist in the Food Laboratory of the Florida Department of Agriculture, Florida State University, University of Florida and the Italian NIH. She holds a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies from the University of Bologna, Italy, and a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the University of Florida.
