Mohan Sabaratnam has worked in the scientific and accreditation industry for more than 30 years, with 8 years as a Senior Staff with the International Accreditation Service, an accreditation body headquartered in Brea, California. Mohan is currently a Vice President with IAS and is responsible for the management of IAS’s quality system and global recognitions. As VP he is also responsible for ensuring the operational success of a number of accreditation schemes operated by IAS.
In his past life, Mohan’s professional career in accreditation has taken him from Singapore to Australia and USA where he had worked with the Singapore Accreditation Council and National Association of Testing Authorities in Australia. During his tenure with NATA, he was an ILAC Secretariat Coordinator and the Program Manager for the Reference Material Producer accreditation program. He is a trainer and assessor in a number of laboratory, product certification, inspection, personnel certification and management system certification body accreditation standards. He was also the past Quality Manager for the Pacific Accreditation Cooperation which is now the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation or APAC and currently represents IAS in the APAC MRA Management Committee, IAF MRA Management Committee and ILAC/IAF Joint Working Group.
Mohan holds a BSc. degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a MSc. degree from the University of Portsmouth in Strategic Quality Management. He has other individual certifications related to accreditation and is an experienced international evaluator for APAC.
