From the Client’s Perspective: Lab Testing and Quality Assurance

Dr. Sharon Martin has spent over 15 years working in the science and technology industry and her diverse background includes the areas of environmental toxicology, food science and cannabis. She is the Director of Analytical Chemistry for Cresco Labs, one of the largest cultivation, manufacturing and retail cannabis operators in the U.S. In her role, she provides leadership and technical guidance for the analytical chemistry function throughout Cresco Labs’ network, including leading analytical initiatives, onboarding new technologies, participating in new market launches, oversight of third-party testing labs, staff development, and ensuring regulatory compliance of lab operations. Before joining Cresco Labs, Sharon served as the Associate Director of Operations for Chemistry at Deibel Laboratories where she oversaw lab operations within the chemical division of the company and help lead the start-up of a cannabis testing facility at their Santa Cruz, CA laboratory. Sharon also served as an ORISE toxicologist for the Environmental Protection Agency where she worked with research teams to examine environmental contamination from pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and nanoparticles using LC-QQQ technology. Dr. Martin is a native of Jackson, MS. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Jackson State University and her PHD in Chemistry from The University of Georgia.
